Some people confuse chipboard with cardboard which is normal as they do look quite similar. But chipboard is not coagulated like cardboard. So you can see that it is not hollow like cardboard.

Can You Burn Particle Board In A Woodburner?
You can burn the kinds of wood that do not have moisture in them or any chemicals. As for chipboards or particle boards, do not burn them on a wood burner. They are made within them and it emits harmful gasses when burnt which is harmful to the environment.
You also should not burn any wood that starts with the name poison. Burning chipboards or such mentioned woods can cause lung irritation and are not eco-friendly.
Other than the burning hazard, chipboards are environmentally friendly wooden products. Chipboards are made out of pressed paper and cardboard, so there is less deforestation, less wastage, less energy, and less manpower.
Once you get done with the chipboard, you can use it again, recycle it and reuse it.

Formaldehyde produces a tough kind of resin, which is a bonding agent in chipboard. This kind of resin, overtime leaches the formaldehyde into the air and is not good for the environment.
A much more durable and sturdy option than chipboard is MDU. It is produced with sawdust and obtained by wood with resin and thick wood residue. It is then glued and pressed under very high pressure and temperature.
Recently due to an increase in the cost of timber, resin, haulage, and melamine papers, chipboard has become an expensive option.
But even then, you can make so much use of chipboards if you are doing a DIY job or getting the kitchen floor fixed. With this much versatility, chipboard is still an affordable option than any other wood you find in the market.
