Young Living only uses the safest plant-based ingredients in its products, not harmful chemicals and toxins that are hidden with clever marketing.
They have very high standards for their products that go beyond the “organic” label. In addition to oils, they manufacture countless more remarkable goods.
With Young Living, it is simple to complete your home improvement checklist. This makes it so simple to swap out the potentially toxic items in your drawers for something safer. Online ordering eliminates the need to leave the house (or put on trousers!).
Simply put, each bottle of oil contains nothing but the plant itself, with no additions, fillers, synthetic perfumes, preservatives, or colors (which can not be said for store-bought oils).
Then, these pure essential oils are mixed with other plant-based ingredients to make oil-infused products that can be used around the house and in everyday life.
Is It Sustainable?
Young Living chose the Salt Palace’s more environmentally friendly options so that the convention would fit in with its 5×5 Pledge, which includes a promise to be waste-free in five years.
The Salt Palace gets its power from the sun, recycles a lot, markets itself as a low-waste business, and gives any leftover food or materials to local non-profit organizations.
This company has come up with its own plans to encourage recycling, cut down on the use of single-use plastics, and encourage conference attendees to use public transportation as much as possible.
Young Living thinks that the future will be even better for the environment next year, as the company continues to improve how it plans events to be green.
Young Living has pledged to reduce its influence on the natural environment by:
- Sustainability: is considered at every stage of Young Living’s supply chain, from sourcing oils to product delivery and everything in between.
- Commitment: Young Living is committed to preserving wild ecosystems and endangered species, as well as promoting biodiversity on its global farms and partner farms.
- Conservation: The company’s global conservation activities and projects are diverse, but they all aim to bring about significant and enduring changes to the natural environment.
- Waste Reduction: From its farms to its offices and beyond, Young Living has devised a comprehensive plan to contribute to a greener and cleaner future.
- Regenerative & Sustainable Farming: From fertilizing the soil to harvesting the crops, Young Living works with each of its farms to develop sustainable and regenerative farming practices.
Threats Posed By Essential Oils
It is said to concur that essential oils can improve one’s mood.
A few drops of lavender or jasmine on my pillowcase help me unwind and fall asleep more quickly. This is an appropriate application of essential oils for health.
What worries me is the large number of unregulated oils that people apply to their bodies daily, or even worse, eat. These mixtures are promoted as cure-alls. In addition, people are sold the notion that they need every essential oil to live a complete life.
Some medical professionals have admitted that there are no large-scale medical studies confirming the safety of essential oils at the scale at which they are now used.
Essential oils should never be ingested. Even though many essential oils are used as flavorings in the food industry, their amount and quality are controlled. Importantly, the FDA doesn’t test essential oils, so you don’t know what’s in them.
You also shouldn’t put either diluted or undiluted essential oils straight on your skin every day. If you decide to use essential oils topically, I recommend first performing an allergy test. Consult your physician before using essential oils for medical purposes.
Young Living Essential Oils, LC is the world leader in essential oils. They use a strict Seed to Seal® process to make pure essential oil products for every person, family, and way of life.
This procedure assures that all items are authentic, chemical-free, and pure. This promise comes from the company’s care for the planet and its people for more than 20 years.
How Are Their Products Different?
You are already familiar with Young Living’s remarkable Seed to Seal Guarantee. If you missed it, refer to pages 6 and 7.
They take extra precautions, like making sure the soil is free of pesticides and full of nutrients; buying non-GMO seeds before planting; and following specific harvesting methods and testing.
They conduct fifteen to twenty tests on each batch of oil. Twice. If something doesn’t meet their standards or doesn’t pass their tests, it is sent back to the supplier right away. Period. The financial consequences have no bearing on the decision.
Young Living rejects enormous quantities of oil on a regular basis. In the summer of 2017, they sent back more than 7,000 kilograms of peppermint, which is a very popular essential oil, because one part per billion of mercury was found in the batch.
This is comparable to a single drop in an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Seed to Seal is not merely a marketing gimmick!
No Bad Ingredients
Remember your ninth-grade biology class? Did you notice the unpleasant odor of formaldehyde filling the air as you conducted the frog dissection rite in a public school?
Did you know that formaldehyde, or a preservative that releases formaldehyde, is in a lot of popular personal care products? Yes, we share your disgust. Therefore, we do not use it in our products and have a list of additional ingredients we do not use.
When making a new product, Young Living looks at, analyzes, and researches each ingredient to make sure it is as pure as possible. We also look at the conditions at the source and keep a close eye on how the ingredients are gathered.
Their main goal is to sell products made from natural ingredients that you can feel good about using around your family.
Conclusion
Essential oils can promote wellness, but they are not a panacea. Before you use essential oils for medical reasons, you should talk to your doctor or your child’s pediatrician.
As for greenwashing, if you do not need anything, it is not a sustainable buy.
Start substituting harmful substances with Young Living’s safer alternatives, and you can feel good about using items that are also beneficial to your health.
However, they were once cautioned by the FDA for false claims that their oils were preventing all sorts of diseases and curing.
